West Islip, NY 11795 — Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center has recently opened a new satellite gym on our sub-acute rehabilitation unit. This new gym allows residents/patients to receive additional physical therapy and occupational therapy on their unit. The treating therapists, in turn, demonstrate to the rehabilitation certified nursing assistants the individualized treatment plan for each particular resident.

The purpose of this program is to provide continuity of care to the short-term rehabilitation patients seven days a week during their stay at Our Lady of Consolation. The goal of this interdisciplinary staff of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, certified nursing assistants and medical staff is to work together to provide a quicker, more comprehensive transition to home.

Our Lady of Consolation is a 450-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center conducted in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Dominic since 1894 and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
