Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Center Employee Recognized by National Association of Catholic Chaplains

West Islip, NY 11795 – Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center is proud to announce that pastoral care associate Peggy Nixdorf, RN, has been recognized by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains for successfully facilitating  “The Healing Circle”, a prayer/scripture group that is held weekly for the facility’s patients and residents. Her account of the group and its healing effects on its participants was published in the January 2004 issue of Vision, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains newsletter.

Ms. Nixdorf has currently completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington. She will be applying for her Chaplaincy certification in October. In addition, she is a Master’s degree candidate at the Seminary studying for her Master’s in Theology.

Our Lady of Consolation is a 450-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center conducted in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Dominic since 1894 and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
