Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center Dedicates Garden in Honor of Former CEO
Sister Audrey Harsen, O.P. Honored for More than 40 Years of Service
West Islip, NY 11795 -- Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitative Care Center in West Islip recently held a special dedication of its outdoor garden area in honor of Sister Audrey Harsen, O.P., Consolation’s former president and CEO. The dedication ceremony and cocktail reception also helped to pay tribute to all the donors who contributed to Consolation’s Buy-a-Brick Campaign, an ongoing fundraising program which raised the funds necessary to develop the brick patio now enjoyed by residents, patients and their visitors. Over 150 guests joined Sister Audrey, her family and friends to celebrate the garden and her accomplishment of more than forty years of service to Our Lady of Consolation.
“This tranquil outdoor space in itself is a celebration of life with the fish in the pond, the birds singing and the beautiful plants and flowers,” said Dennis J. Verzi, Consolation’s president & CEO. “The garden gives comfort to our residents, patients and visitors, as did Sister Audrey for more than forty years.”
