Long Island hospitals need over 750 fresh pints of blood per day to meet the needs of cancer patients, accident victims and people facing surgery and other medical problems. Blood donors are needed 365 days a year, not just when unpredictable disasters occur. Blood donors can truly save lives on a daily basis.

Eligible donors must be age 17-75 and weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. Donors can also receive free cholosterol testing. Blood can be donated every 56 days.
