Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Center in West Islip will be participating in the annual Golden Games Olympics on Tuesday, July 13, to be held at St. Joseph’s College in Patchogue. Approximately 8-12 residents from each of the participating nursing homes, including Our Lady of Consolation (West Islip), Gurwin Jewish Geriatric Center (Commack), East Neck Nursing Home (West Babylon), Avalon Gardens (Smithtown), Nesconset Nursing Center (Nesconset), Affinity Center (Oakdale), Riverhead Nursing Home and Daleview Care Center (Farmingdale) will compete for gold, silver and bronze medals. Competitive events include volleyball, a wheelchair relay race, bowling and distance throw. Individual and team awards will be presented to all winners.
